2023 Cadillac Escalade Receives Adaptive Driving Beam Headlights

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade marks the third model year of the iconic luxury SUV’s fifth generation, for which it introduces a few minor changes. One of those changes will be the addition of an Adaptive Headlamp System, Cadillac Society has learned.

GM says the Adaptive Headlight System for the 2023 Cadillac Escalade utilizes a high-speed computer with a sophisticated algorithm that can scan the driver’s field of view over 30 times per second, altering the LED headlamp coverage based on the scanned vehicles, motorcycles, and pedestrians in the driver’s field of view. This tech allows the vehicle to automatically adjust the headlamp beam to prevent glare for oncoming drivers.

The Adaptive Headlamp System for the 2023 Cadillac Escalade is offered as an optional extra on Premium Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury Platinum and Sport Platinum trim levels, along with the recently announced Escalade-V. It is not offered at all on the base Luxury trim.

In order to equip the Adaptive Headlamp System on Escalade Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels, customers must opt for the Touring Package (production code ST1), which bundles the following equipment (relevant production codes in parentheses):

  • Soft close doors, front and rear (AF7)
  • Illuminating sill plates (B7G)
  • Air Ride Adaptive suspension (F47)

Those looking to get the ADB system on the Escalade Premium Luxury will also need to add the Performance Package (production code Z66) alongside the aforementioned Touring Package in order to equip the Adaptive Headlight System. The Performance Package includes the following equipment:

  • Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert (UKV)
  • Electronic limited-slip differential (G96)
  • Integrated trailer brake controller (JL1)
  • Magnetic Ride Control (Z95)
  • Hitch Guidance with Hitch View (PZ8)
  • Smart Trailer Integration Indicator (UET)

Adaptive Driving Beam technology was offered on the 2022 Cadillac Escalade in Canada, and is now being brought over to U.S. models for the 2023 model year. Pricing for the system has not been announced for customers in the U.S. market, but for the sake of reference, it costs $1,100 CAN in Canada.
