Cadillac has issued a recall for certain units of the 2022 Cadillac XT5 and XT6 over a possible loose suspension toe link.
The problem: a fastener in the left rear suspension toe link in affected units of the Cadillac XT5 and XT6 may not have been properly torqued at the factory during suspension assembly.
The hazards: if the fastener in the rear suspension toe link is not properly tightened to spec, the toe link may be loose or become separated. This may result in misalignment of the left rear wheel and can negatively affect the vehicle’s handling, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: a dealership technician will inspect the left side rear suspension of the Cadillac XT5 and XT6 to determine if the fastener was torqued to spec. If the fastener is found to be loose or missing, it will be replaced and properly torqued. This procedure will be performed at no cost to the vehicle owner.
Affected vehicles:

I own a 2019 XT5 with a tow link problem. I really don’t know why I didn’t qualify for the recall, it was the same problem. I received a bill for over $600.00 when I had it fixed at the dealership where I bought it new. The suv has 43000 miles on it, and is over the warranty, however Cadillac must have known about this problem for years.
Why not at least notify owners of the problem, even if we have to pay for repairs, before an accident due to it.
It makes me wonder if Cadillac waited a few years to report this problem to avoid to pay for the repair in older XT5’s.
I’m glad a serviceman found the problem when I had my tires rotated during a tire rotation and oil change, not at the Cadillac dealer where I bought the car.
