Heated And Ventilated Seats Return To 2022 Cadillac XT6

After a brief hiatus due to the ongoing global microchip shortage, heated and ventilated seats have returned to the 2022 Cadillac XT6

As of May 1st production, heated and ventilated seats are once again being included in units of the Cadillac XT6. Previously, the features were constrained as of March 14th production as a result of Cadillac’s response to the ongoing global microchip shortage.

Heated front seats (production code KA1) are normally standard across all XT6 trim levels, including Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport. However, the XT6 Sport was not affected by the constraint. Meanwhile, ventilated front seats (production code KU9) are optional on the XT6 Premium Luxury and Sport trims, but as before, the Sport trim retained the feature despite constraints. Ventilated front seats are not available for the base Luxury trim level.

Meanwhile, heated rear outboard seats (production code KA6) are optional for the XT6 Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels, and are not available on the base Luxury trim.

While heated and ventilated seats have made a comeback to the Cadillac XT6, front and rear park assist are still being withheld from the luxury crossover. At the time of this writing, it’s not clear when – or if – these features could be reintroduced to the vehicle.

The Cadillac XT6 was introduced to the luxury marque’s lineup for the 2020 model year. The 2022 model is motivated by the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 engine (production code LGX), rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque for Premium Luxury and Sport models, while the Luxury model features the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY), good for 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Both engines bolt to Cadillac’s nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive is standard, while all-wheel-drive is optional. XT6 production takes place at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee for U.S. markets.
