Heated Steering Wheel Now Available To Order Again On Cadillac CT4

At the end of 2021, Cadillac Society learned that the heated steering wheel feature would be withheld from most vehicles in Cadillac’s lineup, including the Cadillac CT4. However, we’ve now learned that the feature has been reintroduced to the small luxury sedan.

As of March 28th production, the heated steering wheel feature (production code KI3) is once again available to order on the 2022 Cadillac CT4. Previously, the heated steering wheel was restricted due to the ongoing global microchip shortage on December 6th, 2021, and remained under constraint until March 27th, 2022.

All CT4 trim levels can be optioned with the heated steering wheel. On the base Luxury trim, it is included as part of the Cold Weather Package, which adds $600 to the overall price of the CT4. Meanwhile, the Climate Package adds the feature to the CT4 Premium Luxury for an additional $1,200. CT4 Sport and CT4-V models can be outfitted with a heated steering wheel by equipping either the Cold Weather Package or Climate Package.

Despite the constraint of heated steering wheels on most trims within the CT4 range, the feature was never restricted from the ultra-high-performance Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing

It’s also worth noting that Cadillac indicated in late 2021 that units of the Cadillac CT4 produced without the heated steering wheel feature would be eligible to have it retrofitted. Cadillac has not yet indicated when that will take place, but it could happen as soon as mid-2022.

As a reminder, the base engine for the 2022 Cadillac CT4 is the turbocharged 2.0L I4 (production code LSY), rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine is equipped as standard on the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trim levels, and these models can be identified by the 350T badge on the decklid. Meanwhile, the turbocharged 2.7L I4 (production code L3B) is optional on the CT4 Premium Luxury, rated at 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. These models can be identified by the 500T badge on the decklid. The 2.7L turbocharged engine is also standard on the CT4-V, where it’s tuned to deliver 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. All aforementioned CT4 trims are offered in either rear- or all-wheel drive.
