Mattel Announces Hot Wheels Cadillac Seville Collab With Gucci

Mattel Creations just announced that it will immortalize the Cadillac Seville as a Hot Wheels model, thanks to a collaboration with Italian luxury fashion brand, Gucci.

The 1:64-scale Cadillac Seville throws back to the luxury automobile’s 1982 model year and features a classy white livery with gold and red pinstriping emphasizing its strong body lines. Gold crosshatching over a rich brown base color gives the impression of a vinyl top covering the C-pillars. Gucci’s logo is detailed on the rear of the model car in gold, including the interlocking  twin “G” insignia above the custom Gucci license plate. Take a look inside the tiny Cadillac Seville and you’ll find a highly detailed interior, authentic right down to the gold piping on the seats.

The Cadillac Seville comes with its very own acrylic display box, wrapped in an authentic Gucci box and slipcover made of the fashion brand’s signature green paper.

The collaboration with Gucci comes just in time to celebrate the luxury fashion brand’s century celebration.

“Together, with our two powerful brands, we created something very special with this Hot Wheels x Gucci item celebrating the 100th anniversary of the fashion house,” said Bryan Benedict, die-cast designer for Hot Wheels Collectors.

“This epic and unexpected collaboration between Gucci and Hot Wheels reinforces that toys are a canvas that reflect pop culture, fashion and design,” said Richard Dickson, President and Chief Operating Officer, Mattel, in a press release. “We are thrilled to celebrate and honor Gucci’s incredible 100th milestone with an artistic take on a limited-edition Hot Wheels, reinforcing the significance of Toys as Art.”

This isn’t the first time Gucci has lent its style to a Cadillac model. In the late 1970s, the fashion house designed a Gucci Package for the real-life Cadillac Seville, bringing iconic Italian styling to the American luxury car.

Collectors looking to add the Gucci Cadillac Seville to their Hot Wheels fleet can expect the model to hit shelves at select Gucci flagship stores worldwide, or on MattelCreations.com and Gucci.com, starting October 18th. With a price tag of $120, the limited-edition car will be a show stopper for any collection.
