More Active Safety Features Added To 2022 Cadillac XT6 As Standard

The 2022 Cadillac XT6 will gain a set of advanced safety features as standard.

The 2022 Cadillac XT6 will come standard with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (production code UFG) and Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert (production code UKC).

Rear Cross Traffic Alert serves to assist drivers when backing out of a parking spot and into a street with blind corners and poor visibility around the vehicle. Short-range radars can monitor traffic up to 65 feet in either direction and alert drivers to oncoming traffic in order to avoid a collision.

Meanwhile, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert detects surrounding vehicles that may be in the driver’s blind spot. When the alert is triggered (as an amber light in the outside mirrors), it indicates that a safe lane change may not be possible at that time. Drivers should check their mirrors, of course, before executing a lane change.

Both of these active safety features have been available on the 2021 Cadillac XT6 in Premium Luxury or Sport trim levels. Neither one was available with the base Luxury trim level for the 2021 model year. However, both will be standard equipment for the 2022 model year, regardless of trim.

The Cadillac XT6 is available with two engine choices. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0L I-4 (production code LSY) making 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It is available excessively on the base Luxury trim. Meanwhile, the two upper-end trim levels – Premium Luxury and Sport – are powered by the naturally aspirated 3.6L V-6 (production code LGX) is rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Both engines mate to Cadillac’s nine-speed automatic transmission.
