The new Cadillac Blackwing sedans are the most track-capable models to ever wear a Caddy badge, with the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing sitting at the top of the food chain thanks to the supercharged 6.2L V8 (production code LT4) engine. Production of the new CT5-V Blackwing has yet to officially launch, but now, we’re getting an earful of the super sedan’s exhaust note thanks to the following brief video.
Coming to us from YouTube user dtownmuscle, it’s unclear how the user managed to come into possession of this particular Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, given production is set to ramp up early in July. Nevertheless, this does indeed appear to be the real deal, giving us a taste of the aural awesomeness in store.
The video is short, clocking in at less than a minute in length. The video opens with an exterior shot of the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, which looks to be covered in Summit White paint, providing a nice offset for the black exterior trim and wheels. We then get to listen to a cold start, which is accompanied with the usual raspy V8 burble. The driver gives the throttle a few light stabs, revving the V8 and making some very pleasing noises.
Later, the video moves into the cabin space, where we get to hear the V8 quietly cruise around town. We also get to see a few quick shots of the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing interior.
As a reminder, the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing rocks the same supercharged V8 as the third-generation Cadillac CTS-V. However, under the hood of the Caddy, the V8 produces 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. Output is routed exclusively to the rear wheels, with a six-speed manual as standard and a 10-speed automatic as an available option.
