The 2021 Cadillac CT5 550T luxury sedan, the one equipped with the optional twin-turbo 3.0L V6 engine (production code LGY), gets higher fuel economy ratings from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) than the 2020 model.
The rear-wheel-drive version of the 2021 Cadillac CT5 Premium Luxury 550T gets an EPA estimated fuel economy rating of 19 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined. By comparison, the 2020 CT5 with the same specs was rated at 19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined.
The 2021 CT5 550T with the same twin-turbo 3.0L V6 and all-wheel-drive also received a small improvement in mpg, with an estimated 18 mpg city, 26 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined. The 2020 model was rated at 25 mpg highway, and the same city and combined ratings.
The reason for the improved fuel economy figures is currently fuzzy, since Cadillac didn’t make any changes to the product that would have impacted MPG.

The Cadillac CT5 550T is powered by the optional twin-turbo 3.0L V6 engine (production code LGY) that’s rated at 335 horsepower (250 kW) and 405 pound-feet of torque (550 Nm). That 550 Nm torque rating is what gives the vehicle the 550 designation, while the T stands for “turbo.” This particular configuration is only available in the CT5 Premium Luxury trim level.
By comparison, the standard CT5 models are powered by the single-turbo 2.0L I-4 engine (production code LSY) rated at 237 horsepower (177 kW) and 258 pound-feet (350 Nm) of torque. These models get the 350T designation on the decklid. Fuel economy figures for these models remains unchanged.
No matter the engine, power is sent to either the two rear rear wheels or to all four wheels via Cadillac’s ten-speed automatic transmission.
