Cadillac is planning a fresh entry in the professional livery segment with a new Cadillac XT5 limousine, and now, Cadillac Society has details on what the stretched crossover will offer.
For the moment, Cadillac is keeping its cards close to the chest, with Cadillac Communications Assistant Manager Whitney Lewis telling Cadillac Society Executive Editor Alex Luft in an interview, “The vehicles are up-fitted by aftermarket companies and there is not much else we can share at the moment.”
Luckily, Cadillac Society has the inside scoop. We previously caught the upcoming Cadillac XT5 limousine testing in prototype form with a rough six-door body. Now, we have specs to share.
Under the hood, the new Cadillac XT5 limousine will draw motivation from the turbocharged 2.0L I4 (production code LSY) gasoline engine, producing 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Output will be routed through a nine-speed automatic transmission, with front-wheel-drive as standard, and all-wheel-drive as an available option.
Inside, the new Cadillac XT5 Limousine will feature leatherette seats and a Jet Black color scheme, while the driver will get an eight-way power seat adjuster. The front seats will also feature a heating feature, while the driver will enjoy a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Further features include dual-zone climate control, plus a 60/40 sliding and reclining second-row seat. A Cadillac User Experience infotainment and 8-inch touchscreen with four USB ports will be standard, as will wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a Bose premium eight-speaker stereo and Adaptive Remote Start.
A long list of features will be outfitted as standard as well, such as Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Front and Rear Park Assist.
Outside, the upcoming Cadillac XT5 limousine will roll on 18-inch 6-Split Spoke alloy wheels with a Pearl Nickel finish. LED headlamps with IntelliBeam will be standard.
Available exterior colors will include:
Cadillac previously withdrew from the livery space with the discontinuation of the Cadillac CT6, although the luxury marque did offer a Livery Package on the non-stretched Cadillac XT5 with the 2020 model year.
The latest XT5 limo will arrive as an indirect replacement for the Cadillac XTS Professional Vehicles, which were discontinued as the same time as the discontinuation of the “regular” XTS model. It is believed the new XT5 limo will be sent to up-fitters (coachbuilders) with an extended wheelbase, although that has yet to be confirmed.
