The Scene-Stealing Cadillac Models From Film And Television

Back in February, the all-new 2021 Cadillac Escalade made its star-studded debut in Hollywood, California. However, as we all know, the 2021 Escalade’s debut was far from the first time the automaker has graced tinseltown. Now, the automaker is listing off some of the most noteworthy examples of Cadillac models which have been featured in television and film.

Looking over the list, the breadth of television shows and movies that feature various Cadillac models is impressive, covering dramas, comedies, and even animated shows. Likewise, the Caddy’s themselves are impressively varied, including both modern vehicles and classics as well.

Some of the most popular Cadillac models listed include the Cadillac CTS, the Cadillac Deville, and the Cadillac Eldorado. What’s interesting here is that Cadillac as a brand seems to represent a variety of different things in these various pieces of media, including prestige, comfort, luxury, and performance as well.

The oldest Cadillac model in the list is the 1939 Cadillac Series 75, as featured in The Aviator (2004). Meanwhile, the newest model in the list is the 2017 Cadillac XT5 crossover, as featured in both Ocean’s Eight (2018) and Line of Duty (2019).

What’s more, it looks as though Cadillac models are somewhat popular with mobsters, given their appearance in Goodfellas (1990) and the TV drama The Sopranos (1999 – 2007).

If you’re a Caddy fan and you’re looking for something to watch that features your favorite automaker, check out the lists below for some suggestions as to what you should stream next. And make sure to let us know which TV show or movie you’re watching in the comments, and tell us your favorite scene!

  1. How in the Hell could you leave out the Godfather with at least 2 prominent Cadillacs? One when Don Corleone was shot and the other when Don Barzani was shot on the steps. Not to mention the cemetery scene with various limos and flower cars.

    • Character Ray Donovan drive a CT6-V in NYC episode of the series of the same name. Character Jason Bull rode in a chauffeured CT6 in the 2019 season. Character Claire Dunphy sometimes drove a CT6 in Modern Family. Actor Patrick Swayze drove an STS-V in The Beast, his last work prior to his death.

  2. A friend and I are great fans of the 1992-1997 Seville. Last Christmas, I gave him 12 different movies that showed the ’92-’97 SLS/STS in one or more scenes. One movie for each day of Christmas! He told me it took him until the second or third film to figure out the theme, as I didn’t tell him up front. It was fun putting it together, and a miracle all twelve DVD’s arrived in time.

  16. Not a complete list of movies and TV Shows that had Cadillacs that should be listed but would take up too much space on this thread.

If anyone remember the ’70s-’80s sitcoms, the Fleetwood Seventy-Five was featured in Charlies Angels, Hart-to-Hart and etc. Even in the theme song of Different Strokes, Phillip Drummon was driven in the Fleetwood Seventy-Five. Nowadays, the Escalade is dominating TV shows and movies.

  17. I have only just seen this list today and for the classics you can’t go past the movie form 2013 “The Great Gatsby” with a 1930 V16 Sport Phaeton.
IMCDb.org list this as a 1932 model, however it is definitely a 1930.

  18. People- this is supposed to be fun and Cadillac Society never said it was an exhaustive list…hence the fun in filling in the gaps…geez. Here are mine:
Kevin Costner drove a 2005-era STS in “The Upside of Anger”
Early 2000s DTS (one of my favorite scenes is when Furio is driving Tony Soprano around and Tony yells out the window to the FBI agent “I’ll save you the trouble, we’ll be back in a couple of hours.”)
Tony Soprano’s mid-2000s Pearl White Escalade ESV
JR Ewing’s Allante in “Dallas” post-Benz 380 SEL
In “Payback” with Mel Gibson, the Corporate henchmen drove a mid-80s Fleetwood
Carmila Vargas’ Escalade in “Queen of the South”
