Back in 2017, Cadillac made a stunning return to endurance racing after a 14-year hiatus, taking seven straight wins in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and securing the Manufacturer, Driver, Team and Endurance Championships. To celebrate, Caddy introduced three new special edition models, including this – the 2018 Cadillac CTS-V Championship Edition. Now, one of these limited-production special edition CTS-V’s is up for grabs.
As expected, the 2018 Cadillac CTS-V Championship Edition comes with a host of aesthetic upgrades to help it visually stand out from its more pedestrian counterparts. One of the most eyeball-grabbing enhancements is the new Cadillac V-Performance graphic on the hood, which stretches back into the windshield with white, silver, and red stripes.
Each 2018 Cadillac CTS-V Championship Edition was offered in either Black Raven or Crystal White Tricoat paint, with this particular example rocking the latter. The special edition sedan also comes with Red Obsession mirror caps, 19-inch V-Series wheels in a polished Alloy finish with Midnight Painted Pockets, and the Carbon Fiber Package, which adds tasty composite for the front splitter, hood vent, rear spoiler, and rear diffuser. Red Brembo brake calipers sit in the corners.
The cabin space is also upgraded, with the 2018 Cadillac CTS-V Championship Edition adding in the Morello Red Package, which includes Morello accented high-gloss carbon fiber trim and Morello Red stitching for the rear seat, and the Luxury Package, which includes Tri-Zone climate control, heated outboard rear seats, a power rear-window sun shade, and a few other goodies.
Under the hood decals is the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4), which produces 640 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. The V8 connects to the eight-speed automatic transmission (production code 8L90).
Now, this 2018 Cadillac CTS-V Championship Edition is headed to auction as Lot # J20-170 in Premier Auction Group’s upcoming online auction on June 6th. The vehicle will be offered for sale via phone and online through Proxibid. Just 13,000 miles show on the odometer.
