Cadillac is currently in the process of launching a global expansion that includes a greater presence in the Middle Eastern market. The automotive luxury brand is introducing new models while also inaugurating two standalone dealerships in the market, one in Kuwait and another in Oman. On the product front, Caddy has announced that it will show the new Cadillac CT5 luxury sedan at the 2019 Dubai International Motor Show, with the event representing the four-door’s regional debut in the region.
The Cadillac CT5 will be offered in the Middle East market in the familiar Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trim levels, as per Cadillac’s Y-trim level strategy. The base model is Luxury, followed by the Premium Luxury and Sport in opposing branches of the Y structure. Cadillac will also offer the Platinum package on the Premium Luxury and Sport models. The Platinum Package features an exclusive Sedona/Jet Black interior color scheme, with Opus semi-aniline leather finished in Sedona Sauvage. Additional details include contrasting seat piping and chevron accents, plus 18-way seat adjustability with heating, ventilation and lumbar massage.
Under the skin, the new sedan is built on an improved version of the luxury automaker’s rear-drive Alpha platform known as Alpha 2. The model is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0L inline four-cylinder engine (product code LSY) as standard. The boosted four-banger makes 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque and mates to a new 10-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Precision Shift. Alternatively, buyers can opt for a twin-turbo 3.0L V6 (product code LGY), which produces 335 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.
The Cadillac CT5 exterior takes inspiration from the Escala concept vehicle, with next-generation design. The interior has been completely redesigned to follow a horizontal theme, with a large center screen and new rotary controls for the infotainment system.
The Cadillac CT5 serves as an indirect replacement for the Cadillac ATS and Cadillac CTS, though it’s more of a direct replacement for the ATS globally and for the ATS-L in China.
The 2019 Dubai International Motor Show is slated to run from November 12th and November 16th. During the show, Cadillac will also debut the 2020 Cadillac XT5 refresh and all-new Cadillac XT6 for the Middle East market. Back in March, Cadillac announced it was bringing the 2019 Cadillac CT6 refresh to the Middle East, debuting the larger four-door offering at the 2019 EXCS International Luxury Motor Show,
