2019 Cadillac CT6-V Now Arriving At Dealers, Finally

As we reported several weeks ago, deliveries of the 2019 Cadillac CT6-V were delayed over issues stemming from emissions-related matters. Luckily, it looks as though the issue was resolved, as deliveries of the large performance luxury sedan have now commenced.

As evidenced by new dealer listings, units of the 2019 Cadillac CT6-V are now on the ground. The model was originally announced in March of 2018, at which time it was called CT6 V-Sport. Caddy changed the name to CT6-V that following September, and opened order books in January of 2019. Pre-order availability was limited to just 275 units, all of which quickly sold out. As such, Cadillac added an additional $4,000 to the price tag, but buyers once again scooped up all available units.

Despite the demand, deliveries were delayed multiple times, but now, it looks as though units are finally arriving. Indeed, all 2019 Cadillac CT6-V units are already built, and they are not being shipped to dealers, with some dealers receiving their first unit earlier this week.

It’s possible that, in addition to the emissions issue we covered previously, the ongoing UAW strike against Cadillac’s parent company, General Motors, could be affecting CT6-V deliveries, but it’s unclear at this time.

Regardless, we’re certainly happy to see the Cadillac CT6-V finally hit dealer lots. The particular model pictured here just arrived at Cadillac Of Norwood in Massachusetts yesterday.

For reference, the Cadillac CT6-V is powered by the all-new 4.2L twin-turbo V8 DOHC engine, otherwise known as Blackwing. Output from this beast is rated at 550 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque, 13 pound-feet more than Cadillac originally estimated. Output is relayed to all four wheels via a new 10-speed automatic transmission.

The Cadillac CT6-V availability is currently limited to the U.S. and Canada, with Cadillac stating it won’t offer the sedan in China. Whether the model will be sold in Mexico, the Middle East, or Europe is currently unknown, but it’s looking less and less likely.
