First busting onto the scene early this year at the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the 2020 Cadillac XT6 is the premium automaker’s latest three-row crossover SUV. Now, Caddy is revving up the marketing machine to get this seven-seater out into the public eye through a new ad campaign dubbed “Crew Ready.”
The new ad was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, popularly nicknamed the Russo Brothers. The pair is also known for directing blockbuster movies like Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and various other installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, as well as their work on the show Arrested Development.
The ad’s backing music is “Welcome to the Party” by Diplo.
The new ad spot shows several different “crews” loading up in the new Cadillac XT6, including musicians, stunt women, martial artists, and a few others. With plenty of slow motion and various other effects going on in the background, the ad definitely has a big production feel to it.
The new Cadillac XT6 ad is classified as an “edgier look and feel for the brand,” and for the most part, we agree. Considering previous Cadillac ad campaigns traditionally focused on things like a vehicle’s sleek lines, features, and elegance, this new ad breaks from the mold with a markedly different approach.
“The XT6’s ‘Crew Ready’ campaign signifies a new way of thinking about Cadillac SUVs,” said Cadillac’s chief marketing officer, Deborah Wahl. “CT6 customers are always ready for an adventure, and we knew closely partnering with the directors of the highest ever grossing film, the Russo brothers, and Bullitt was the perfect way to bring this vision to life.”
Inside, the 2020 Cadillac XT6 offers seating for up to seven passengers with three rows of space. Buyers can also opt into a six-passenger layout with the available captain’s chair configuration. Materials like wood or carbon fiber trim, plus leather upholstery give it the requisite luxuriousness, while the latest Cadillac User Experience, wireless charging, and safety and convenience features keep it appropriately tech-worthy. It also has some fantastic rear cupholders.
