Cadillac has significantly revamped its sedan lineup over the last few years, both as a means of staying competitive in the segment, as as a means of differentiating its various four-door offerings with regard to size, features and pricing. Now, we have the official price figures for the all-new 2020 Cadillac CT5.
The base-model – the 2020 Cadillac CT5 Luxury – starts at $37,890, including destination freight charge. That’s $1,105 less than the outgoing Cadillac ATS and $9,105 less than the outgoing Cadillac CTS.
With a starting price under $38,000, the 2020 Cadillac CT5 is competitively priced compared to its primary German rivals, which include the BMW 3 Series ($40,250), Mercedes-Benz C-Class ($41,400) and Audi A4 ($37,200). What’s more, the 2020 Cadillac CT5 bests the Germans when it comes to available front headroom, front shoulder room, front legroom, rear legroom and rear shoulder room.

The standard CT5 draws motivation from the turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine (production code LSY) producing 237 horsepower, while a twin-turbo 3.0L V6 producing 335 horsepower (production code LGY) will be optional. Note that the above pricing structure is specific to the base 2.0L four-cylinder engine, with pricing for the optional boosted 3.0L V6 slated for announcement at a later date.
Both powerplant options mate to a 10-speed automatic transmission, making the 2020 Cadillac CT5 the only model to offer a 10-speed auto box in the segment.
The CT5 is built on the dedicated rear-wheel-drive Alpha 2 platform from Cadillac’s parent company, General Motors. All-wheel-drive will be optional.
Inside, the CT5 is equipped with Cadillac’s highly-innovative Rear Camera Mirror, Safety Alert Seat and OnStar as standard. Standard safety tech includes Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking and Front Pedestrian Braking. A 10-inch touchscreen and rotary controller provide infotainment inputs, while Active Noise Cancellation keeps things comfy.
