We just got our hands on the 2020 Cadillac CT5 order guide, the document by which dealers order the vehicles from Cadillac. More importantly, the 40-some-page document shows every feature, option, and equipment package for the new luxury sedan.
The order guide shows one engine option – the turbo-charged 2.0L I-4 LSY engine good for 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet torque mated to the new 10-speed automatic transmission. These models will have the 350T badge, as per Cadillac’s new torque-based nomenclature. The order guide doesn’t show the previously-announced twin-turbo 3.0L V6 engine for models with the 550T designation.
In addition, the 2020 Cadillac CT5 order guide shows three trim levels – the base Luxury, along with up-level Premium Luxury and Sport. There’s also 11 exterior colors and 5 interior color combinations, including:
Exterior Colors:
- Crystal White Tricoat
- Velocity Red
- Red Obsession Tintcoat
- Satin Steel Metallic
- Summit White (as we reported earlier this week)
- Black Raven
- Evergreen Metallic
- Shadow Metallic
- Wave Metallic
- Garnet Metallic
- Dark Moon Metallic
Interior Colors:
- Jet Black with Jet Black accents
- Sahara Beige with Jet Black accents
- Maple Sugar with Jet Black accents
- Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black accents
- Whisper Beige with Jet Black accents
Only two exterior colors – Summit White and Black Raven – do not carry an addition charge.

Hyperlink please? No V model in the order guide?
Alex Luft
Dave – sorry about that. The link is now there.
Nope, no V model in there. Just the trim levels mentioned in the story (Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport).

Hi Alex, there has been talk about the window section behind the rear door being plastic. I was in a chevy dealer today and the window section behind the Mailbu rear door was glass. Surely they dint go cheap on the Cadillac.
Alex Luft
I asked the CT5 design lead about this, and did my best to get a sense for the material. The answer is this: it’s not glass. Not sure if it’s plastic or not, but it’s not glass.
Now, there is a reason for this, and it’s the fact that the space immediately behind the area in question has the rear seatbelt housing. Making that area transparent (glass) would not make sense since it would have that housing right behind it, making it not very attractive. So the move was made to black it out. At that point, it doesn’t matter what material it is.
Now, they could have made it glass, and it would have required an additional weatherstripping support beam to be mounted between it and the rear door. Making it out of whatever they’re making it out of doesn’t require that to take place.
I’m in the market for a car in this space, and I personally don’t have a problem with this. Non-glass pieces like plastics and composites typically hold up better than the “genuine” materials like glass or leather or even metal. The bottom line is that the execution on the piece in question looks good and doesn’t take away from the car.

What about the 3.0T with 335hp/400lb-ft? Not available at launch?

Has Cadillac gotten rid of that stupid CUE system for 2020?
