The online 2020 Cadillac XT6 online configurator is now live, enabling fans, enthusiasts and interested parties to spec the three-row luxury crossover SUV to their heart’s content.
Two trim levels are on offer, including Premium Luxury that starts at $53,690, and Sport that starts at $58,090. The Premium Luxury comes with Bright Galvano exterior accents, unique wood interior trim and 20-inch wheels, while the Sport is equipped with Gloss Black exterior accents, carbon fiber interior trim, and its own 20-inch wheel design.
Both trim levels are powered by the 3.6L V6 LGX engine producing 310 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 271 pound-feet of torque at 5,000 rpm. The naturally-aspirated six-cylinder engine is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission with an Electronic Precision Shift interface. The Premium Luxury trim offers front-wheel-drive as standard, while all-wheel-drive tacks on another $2,000. Meanwhile, the Cadillac XT6 Sport comes with the Sport Control AWD system as standard.
A large palette of exterior colors are available. The only standard hue is Radiant Silver Metallic, with the other colors being extra-cost options: for an additional $625, the Cadillac XT6 can be draped in Satin Steel Metallic, Stellar Black Metallic, Manhattan Noir Metallic, Shadow Metallic, Garnet Metallic, or Dark Mocha Metallic. Alternatively, an extra $1,225 opens up the option for Crystal White Tricoat and Red Horizon Tintcoat.
Interior color choice is dependent on equipment levels, with materials including leather seating and semi-aniline seating.
On the packages front, big-ticket items include the Platinum Package, which costs $4,900 on the Premium Luxury trim level or $3,700 on the Sport model. It tosses in premium carpets, real-time Chassis Damping Control (on Premium Luxury models, Sport models have it standard), and access to two unique interior trims – Jet Black with Bronze Carbon Fiber trim with Ombre finish, or Maple Sugar with Jet Black accents with Fineline Calico wood trim. There’s also the Enhanced Visibility and Technology Package offered at $2,350, which tosses in a rear camera mirror washer, an 8-inch diagonal color Driver Information Center, and Automatic Parking Assist with braking.
Using the Cadillac XT6 online configurator, we went with the Premium Luxury trim and added in all-wheel-drive, plus Shadow Metallic for the paint. The standard Jet Black leather seating looks great inside, and we added the $750 Comfort and Air Quality package for the ventilated seats. We also checked the Driver Assist Package for $1,300 to get the Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Seat Belt Tightening, Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking and Reverse Automatic Braking. This also required grabbing the $2,350 Enhanced Visibility and Technology.
All told, our configuration topped out at $60,715 – not too shabby for a premium three-row SUV stuffed with modern tech. However, if we really wanted to go crazy and tick every box, we could spec the Cadillac XT6 to $75,155.
