    The issues with the timing chain usually boils down to oil changes Don’t trust the oil change reminder. If the oil gets too old and dirty it can cause excessive wear on the guides and also cause issues with the cam phaser system. if the solenoid valves for the phasers get plugged or the phaser ports get plugged the phaser can stay on and cause the timing chains to slap thus damaging the timing system.
    I would suggest that you change the oil 1/2 the recommended interval for safety sake.

    To me if you are seeing a spiderweb in the corner i would think that it was an installation error and the corner was not mounted correctly causing it to fracture.
