GM has just announced that buyers of 2023 Buick, GMC and Cadillac Escalades will be required to purchase a three year OnStar subscription that costs between $900 and $1400.

Since most of us who put down deposits on a Lyriq will probably receive a 2024 model with the way production delays are going and by then GM may expand the requirement to the rest of the Cadillac line, including the Lyriq, will you still go through with the purchase?

I had as GMC Envoy with a trial OnStar service and didn’t purchase it after trial expired. It is more the principle of the thing than the added cost. What’s next, subscription brakes?

That is the way of the future of cars. BMW has also announced a subscription model for premium services ( like brakes )

Yes, I received my debut edition in September 2022, and it expires in 2025. Excellent vehicle!
