I haven’t owned a Cadillac since the 2000 Deville. Just bought a 2021 XT5 premium luxury 3 weeks ago. Is it just mine or all of them noisy inside. Not a problem under 35 but a definite tire and wind noise faster than that. Does a wind deflector for the sunroof help? My hearing is not the best but this is really bothersome. Dealer said they found a rear barely down. Didn’t help when THEY closed it. Feedback please?
August 20, 2021 at 9:42 am #82759gatorgirlParticipantI have a 2019 XT5 and above 60 the tire noise inside is extremely loud. This is why I am getting rid of it for a Lincoln or Edge. I previously had an Edge Sport with low profile Pirelli tires and it was MUCH quieter than this XT5. Lincoln has much better sound proofing than Cadillac and I do not understand why they won’t make this a better product for the money this seems ridiculous.

Actually insulted my intelligence. Do they think I didn’t check that before bringing it in? Actually, another service guy claimed the noise is mostly due to the lighter material being used to assemble them this day and time. That makes more sense. If it doesn’t improve when I put different softer tires on it, I will also be looking at another brand.

November 17, 2021 at 4:42 pm #83652Ol RedParticipantShort answer, No not yet. Had it for over a year now and have only 4600 miles on it. I have taken only two 1500 mile trips with it and the different composition of the pavement makes a huge difference. If my hearing was still good I would get the new tires tomorrow. Now if I can only stop OnStar from sending me to a dealer for an engine and transmission diagnostic check every 3 weeks or so, only to be told I needed a software update. This started shortly after my first service and oil change early summer. Geez!

Reported it to GM on their site of complaints and to National Transportation Safety Board as a defect. Also did same for car was hesitating-reduce power while driving-(auto stop turned off). Dealership checked everything, found nothing-of course they didn’t! mine is a lease and in 9 months-begone. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very nice performance car with bells and whistles. PS GM nor Safety Board returned message.

She was driving a convertible before, so its probably vastly quieter than that vehicle 🙂 Without actual measurements its difficult to say. My wife loves the car and feels like its quiet, safe, and enjoyable to drive. Very pleased with the purchase.

One other thing too, I don’t see why so many people are so upset at the start/stop feature. I barely notice it stopping or re-starting.
Certainly not going to spend 188 bucks for a gadget to make it stop…especially when there’s a button on the infotainment screen that will disable it with one push until the next time I start the vehicle.July 15, 2022 at 10:01 pm #91894HarryoParticipantWe have a 2022 xt5 premium luxury. Best riding and quiet SUV we had yet. No issues!!
The moon roof works well. V6 is very strong and proven for several years.. 0 to 60 in no time..9 speed auto..
Its the 6th year of this model. All the issues I feel have been worked out..I never buy 1st year production models..February 8, 2023 at 5:45 pm #94763ricklea1953ParticipantI just got my 2023 on January 27th and we love it. No tire noise but the inside sunroof cover makes a vibrating noise. Plan to have it checked out at the first service.

March 11, 2024 at 1:09 am #102677CaddybonezParticipantWe bought a 2018 and it has the road noise above 50. It just the luxury not the premium. I am going to see if adding the spare tire will help
June 2, 2024 at 12:40 pm #104502Parklane47ParticipantI had my car treated with Ziebart and they filled the cavities and undercarriage with sound absorbing material which really helped.
June 2, 2024 at 12:48 pm #104503CaddybonezParticipantIs the sound louder in XT5s with no spare tire?
I test drove a Premium and it was quiet vers mine. I think it had a spare tire and the Cadillac floor protectors. Not sure if one of those is what made that one quiet….June 3, 2024 at 10:21 am #104506gatorgirlParticipantI haven’t changed my tires yet and kept the XT5 bc car prices are crazy right now. I will insulate the place where the spare tire goes as mine doesn’t have one, and see if this helps. thanks for the info. I have a spare I bought from a neighbor for $50 and called parts to order the molded stuff that it fits in and its over $300 for a piece of molded foam, not going to pay that much for it. I’ll make my own foam tire holder 🙂 thanks but no thanks Cadillac!!!
