Some 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Units Will Need A Software Update

A software update has been released for certain units of the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq. The update is part of a new Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP), and only applies to the 2024 Lyriq.

Tagged with No. N242442960, this software update has been issued to “improve the customer experience and optimize future over-the-air updates.” It’s important to note that units of the 2024 Lyriq that are currently in dealer possession cannot be sold or released to owners until this software update is performed. Cadillac has not disclosed the number of vehicles affected by this CSP.

The update must be performed at an authorized dealership service center. A technician will perform a comprehensive software update, free of charge to 2024 Cadillac Lyriq owners. The software updates involve improvements like reprogramming the radio, brake system control module, body control module, headlamp control module, parking assist control module, power steering control module and other components. The update will take a few hours to complete, and it cannot be performed over-the-air (OTA), meaning it must be performed onsite at the dealer.

As a reminder, the 2024 Lyriq is offered with either rear-wheel-drive (RWD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD). RWD variants have an approximate driving range of 308 miles from a single charge, delivering 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. The Lyriq AWD gets 307 miles of driving range per charge, along with a much more potent 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque (for North American models).

As a reminder, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq rides on the luxury marque’s BEV3 platform, and is assembled at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee for all markets except for China. Production of the 2024 model will soon wrap up to make way for that of the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq, which is scheduled to enter production on September 9th, 2024.
