U.S. Cadillac Escalade sales were flat during the first quarter of 2024, slipping a slight one percent on a year-over-year basis.
Unlike in prior quarters, we don’t have individual sales figures for the regular wheelbase Escalade compared to the longer Escalade ESV for Q1 2024. As a result, sales of both models are reported on the Escalade line item for Q1 2024.
MODEL | Q1 24 / Q1 23 | Q1 24 | Q1 23 | Q1 24 SHARE | Q1 23 SHARE |

On a competitive basis, the Escalade’s combined 9,135 sales accounted for a dominant 56 percent of segment sales during the quarter. The Lincoln Navigator trailed in second place with 3,127 deliveries for a 19 percent share, the Infiniti QX80 earned 2,472 deliveries for a 15 percent share, and the Lexus LX brought up the rear with 1,697 deliveries at 10 percent share.

For the sake of reference, below we’ve included sales figures for full-size luxury crossovers. Though they differ mechanically from the aforementioned body-on-frame SUVs by having a unibody construction, they are typically cross-shopped and considered alternatives. Currently, the only full-size luxury crossovers are the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class, BMW X7 and Land Rover Range Rover, though Audi is working a future Q9.
MODEL | Q1 24 / Q1 23 | Q1 24 | Q1 23 | Q1 24 SHARE | Q1 23 SHARE |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
MERCEDES-BENZ GLS-CLASS | +32.68% | 7,458 | 5,621 | 39% | 37% |
BMW X7 | +2.76% | 6,957 | 6,770 | 36% | 44% |
LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER | +69.35% | 4,945 | 2,920 | 26% | 19% |
TOTAL | +26.44% | 19,360 | 15,311 |
As Cadillac Society reported earlier this year, both the GLS-Class and the X7 continue to chip away at the Escalade’s dominance, earning 7,458 and 6,957 deliveries, respectively. Though less than the Escalade, the sales results of the two German models should not be taken lightly given that both are new in this segment when compared to Cadillac.
The Escalade will receive a mid-cycle refresh for the 2025 model year that will update the front and rear fascias, (some of) the powertrain, while also overhauling the cockpit. Cadillac Society executive editor, Alex Luft, detailed exactly what to expect from the 2025 Escalade refresh in the video above as part of the recently-launched Cadillac Society podcast.
Resulting in a more commanding presence all around.
