Fix Issued For Cadillac XT4, XT5 And XT6 Transmission Fluid Leak

Fix Issued For Cadillac XT4, XT5 And XT6 Transmission Fluid Leak

Owners of certain 2024 model year Cadillac XT4, Cadillac XT5 and Cadillac XT6 luxury crossovers may become aware of a transmission fluid leak impacting their vehicle. Cadillac has identified the issue and released a Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP) to address it.

Tagged with N232433890 and N232433891, the CSP indicates that affected units of the XT4, XT5 and XT6 may have a condition in which the transmission case leaks fluid due to porosity around a mount bolt hole. In order to fix this problem, the transmission case will be replaced.

To swap the transmission case, the entire transmission must be removed from the vehicle. All internal components will then be transferred to the new case before the transmission is reinstalled. This process is extremely involved and will take quite a bit of time, and may require nearly 20 hours to perform depending on model.

The good news is that this service will be performed at no cost to vehicle owners, regardless of mileage, age of vehicle, or ownership through June 30th, 2026. Dealers may also provide courtesy transportation for affected Cadillac owners while their luxury crossovers are being worked on, as long as said vehicle is still within the warranty coverage period.

At this time, it’s not clear how many units of the Cadillac XT4, XT5 and XT6 may be affected by a leaky transmission case.

Affected owners will be notified by mail with instructions to make an appointment with their dealer. Notification letters will be mailed out in June 2024. If customers have further questions regarding this CSP, they may reach out to Cadillac directly using the contact information below.

  3. I have my second 2024 XT6, 3000 Miles on it and my transmission started slipping, the dealer we trying to Bs me, but he did not know I was also in the car business, they said we need to scan it, first lie, but what they did not know I scanned it my self, and I knew it was a transmission problem, after my wife went off on them they came clean, it’s a recall, and they are inundated with the amount of cars that came back, so now the BS story is we don’t know how long to get the part to fix it, at this point I most likely have to get my lawyer involved, because they started lying from the start, so stay away from the Cadillac dealer., I am going back to my BWM dealer.
