Aside from a handful of new paint options and exterior accent packages, the 2024 Cadillac XT6 has only minor changes and updates over the 2023 model. Previously, Cadillac Society took a deep dive into pricing for the three-row luxury crossover, and today, we’re breaking down the 2024 XT4 towing capacities.
Before going too much further, let’s revisit the 2024 Cadillac XT6 engine lineup, since towing capacities depend on which of two engines is under the hood. The first is the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 engine (production code LGX), rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. This engine is standard on Premium Luxury and Sport models. The second is the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY), which is rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This option is offered exclusively on the base Luxury trim. Both engines bolt to Cadillac’s nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive (FWD) is standard, while all-wheel-drive (AWD) is optional.
Additionally, to support towing duties, the 2024 XT6 is offered with the optional Smart Towing Package (production code V92), available on Premium Luxury and Sport trims. Opting for this package enables the XT6 to tow up to 4,000 pounds.
Meanwhile, the 2024 XT6 Luxury, which is not available with the Smart Towing Package, as well as the Premium Luxury and Sport models not equipped with the Smart Towing Package are rated at a maximum of 1,000 pounds in towing capacity.
