Super Cruise, Cadillac’s semi-autonomous driver assist system, has once again been affected by the ongoing global microchip shortage. This time around, Super Cruise will be constrained on the 2023 Cadillac XT6.
Under normal conditions, Super Cruise (production code UKL) is an extra-cost option on the XT6 Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels, and is not available at all for the base Luxury trim.
Typically, Super Cruise on the 2023 Cadillac XT6 Premium Luxury trim costs an additional $2,500, and must be added in conjunction with several other optional packages, including:
- Technology Package (production code Y4N) – $2,350
- Driver Assist Package (production code Y6F) – $1,200
- Real-time damping suspension (production code F45) – $1,200
- Premium Headlamp System (production code UWN) – $800
Combined, these upgrades add $8,150 to the overall cost of the XT6.
For the XT6 Sport, Super Cruise is a $2,500 option, and must also be added in conjunction with the following upgrades:
- Technology Package (production code Y4N) – $2,350
- Driver Assist Package (production code Y66) – $1,300
- Premium Headlight System (production code UWN) – $700
Combined, these features total $6,850.
At this time, it’s not clear Super Cruise availability will become more widespread once again.
Riding on the C1 platform, the 2023 Cadillac XT6 is offered with a choice of two gasoline engines. The first is the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 engine (production code LGX), rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. This engine is standard on Premium Luxury and Sport models and is identifiable by the 400 badging on the liftgate. Meanwhile, the base Luxury model features the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY), which is rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This model wears the 350T badge on the liftgate. Both engines bolt to Cadillac’s nine-speed automatic transmission. XT6 production takes place at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee for North American markets.
Pricing for the base 2023 Cadillac XT6 Luxury starts at $49,990 for front-wheel-drive models, while all-wheel-drive brings the starting price to $51,990. The Premium Luxury trim with FWD starts at $56,190, and AWD is $58,190. Meanwhile, the Sport trim is exclusively offered in AWD, and pricing starts at $61,490.
