Cadillac parent company, General Motors, has issued a recall for certain units of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade over a possible fuel pump failure.
The problem: a fault may be present in the fuel pump power control module, which may cause the fuel pump to intermittently fail to operate. This issue may cause the vehicle’s engine to stall unexpectedly.
The hazards: if the engine stalls unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion, the vehicle may experience sudden deceleration as well as power loss to critical components, increasing the risk of a loss of control and crashing.
The fix: dealers have been instructed to completely replace the fuel pump power control module in affected units of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade. The repair will be performed at no cost to the vehicle owner.

Number of affected vehicles: Cadillac’s parent company, General Motors, has indicated that 14,939 vehicles may be affected by the fuel pump power control module failure in question. However, this figure includes not only the Escalade, but also other full-size GM SUVs such as the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban as well as the GMC Yukon.
Next steps: owners of a 2021 Cadillac Escalade with this issue will be contacted by Cadillac with instructions to make an appointment with a preferred dealer. Beginning on November 8th, 2021, notifications will be sent by mail to affected vehicle owners.
