Cadillac XT6 Premium Luxury vs. XT6 Sport: Visual Comparison

The 2020 Cadillac XT6 has finally arrived, bringing with it two distinct trim levels – Premium Luxury and Sport – representative of the brand’s latest Y Trim Level strategy.

From the get-go, the Cadillac XT6 was developed with two specific trim level offerings in mind, and as such, both trims stand out thanks to unique exterior content. In this in-depth comparison, we break down what each brings to the table in regards to the exterior design.

Premium Luxury

Sport

The names of the Premium Luxury and Sport trims should serve as a dead giveaway to each trim level’s philosophical focus. The Premium Luxury trim offers a more refined and elegant aesthetic, while the Sport delivers a more sporty/aggressive look.

To focus on the distinct elements of both trims, we’ve covered both models in the Shadow Metallic paint option, a $625 extra cost-cost hue. The rest of the spec is completely standard, with no extra packages or options selected.

Premium Luxury

Sport

We should note that both Cadillac XT6 trims get the same general body shape and design, as well as the same vertical LED lighting signatures in the front fascia. Both models also come with a standard set of 20-inch wheels, although the wheel designs differ. Each design elements is also the same between both trims, as the difference lies in the exterior detailing of each model.

Premium Luxury

Sport

The Premium Luxury trim receives a Bright Galvano (read: chrome) finish for the grille outline, grille insert, side window surrounds, door handles, and roof rails. These splashes of polished metal definitely add a little extra opulence to the look, and do well to complement the extra polished trim found in the lower front and rear fascias. The Premium Luxury also boasts bright red taillight lenses, while the 20-inch wheels utilize a split-six-spoke design scheme.

Premium Luxury

Sport

By comparison, the 2020 Cadillac XT6 Sport is equipped with a much more sinister-looking black grille – with both, the grille outline and insert finished in black. The grille shape is identical between both trims, but the one on the Sport features a unique V-Series-style insert. The small inserts flanking the lower lighting elements are also different. Meanwhile, the profile reveals black trim for the window surrounds and roof rails and body-color door handles. The rear fascia gets clear taillight lenses, and the polished lower metal strip in the rear is also replaced with a black strip. The entire ensemble rides on a set of unique 20-inch wheels with a Y-spoke pattern.

Sport

We think the new XT6 looks great, and does well to show off Cadillac’s Y trim level strategy. Stay tuned, as we’ll be offering additional XT6 news soon, and don’t forget to subscribe to Cadillac Society for ongoing Cadillac news coverage.
