I don’t care for the “Run-Flat” tires that came on my ATS Coupe, Performance.
Anyone replace them with “Stop-Flat” tires?
If so, any problems or comments?

Yeah, I didn’t care for the run flats on my ATS Sedan Premium when I got it. They make what is otherwise an excellent car quite noisy and limit its adhesion. Replaced them with Pilot Super Sports about 500 miles into my ownership. They are amazing on the ATS.

Obviously, the only problem is that there is no spare. That’s what I have roadside assistance for, which is part of the bumper-to-bumper warranty on the vehicle. When the warranty runs out, a good way to get it is through your insurance or, alternatively, via the cheapest OnStar plan.

The DOT is about to make it mandatory to replace run-flat tires with run-flat tires.
I have a perfectly good set of run-flat, 40% worn, performance tires for sale:

    Two tires 225/40 RF 18″ $125 ea.

    Two tires 255/35 RF 18″ $150 ea.

I recently purchased a ATS Premium. How do I identify if I have run flat tires?

I’m obviously in the same situation as the previous blogger. I have a 2018 Cadillac ATS premium luxury. I’ve only owned the car for about 5 months, and it looks as though the tires have never been changed on the car. This fall I’d like to replace all 4 tires and I was thinking of replacing them with just regular michelin tires. I’ve never heard of the run flat tires. They do appear to look somewhat small for the vehicle. That being said, has anyone commented on whether or not we can buy regular tires for the car?

Since my first submission I went ahead and replaced my run-flat tires with regular tires. I wish I had done it sooner.
It improved the ride, handling and tire life. I now carry a can of Stop-Flat, just in case.

We replaced the run flats on our Ats with regular tires over a year ago from Costco and so far no problem.

I second what CorvetteRon mentioned about the Stop-Flat can, pretty good backup solution. My friend did something similar with his lexus and hasnt had any issues.
