Is the Cadillac Optiq equipped with a heat pump?

A heat pump manages battery and cabin temperature and is far more efficient than a resistance heater when cabin and battery heating are required. This directly translates into cold-weather driving range. We live in Canada so a heat pump is a critical feature for us.

I have asked our dealership and many others, including chatGTP and MS-copilot. Some don’t know, some say yes and others say it does not. Does anyone on this forum know the answer?

If no one can confirm whether the Optiq does or does not have a heat pump, can you suggest who to ask? I asked the dealer and several forums including ChatGTP and MS co-Pilot. The dealer doesn’t know, and some AI responses say yes and others say no. I am beginning to think I can’t get a firm answer because GM decided not to include a heat pump. Which I think would be a bad decision for customers living in cold climates. The mechanical spec sheet should state how the cabin is heated and the BMS battery temperature is controlled. The answer would either be a resistance heater such as PTC OR a heat pump and resistance heater. That would be seen as transparent marketing.
