2021 Escalade Is Now Available For Pre-Order In Japan

The release of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade introduces a brand-new generation for the flagship SUV nameplate, offering up a fresh exterior and interior design, the latest tech features, and a new underlying platform. Now, the 2021 Escalade is available for pre-order in Japan.

According to a recent press release, pre-orders for the 2021 Escalade in Japan initially opened up on November 13th, 2020, and will be open until January 17th, 2021. Pre-order customers will be able to select their preferred exterior paint color and interior color, with eight exterior color options and three interior color options available.

Pricing for the Japanese-bound 2021 Escalade starts at 14.9 million yen (about $143,215 at the current exchange rate) for the Platinum trim level, and 15.2 million yen (about $146,100) for the Sport trim level. The new Escalade will launch in Japan in the summer of the 2021 calendar year.

Under the skin, the 2021 Cadillac Escalade rides on a new architecture, with a longer wheelbase and improved passenger room for second- and third-row seats. There’s also heating and ventilation for front-seated passengers, as well as a massage function.

On the tech front, the 2021 Escalade is equipped with wireless smartphone charging, plus a slew of cutting-edge safety and convenience features. Keeping passengers entertained is a new AKG sound system with up to 36 speakers, while rear-seated passengers will enjoy a duo of 12.6-inch HD touchscreens with support for both HDMI and USB inputs. There’s also a curved organic LED display on the dash measuring in at an impressive 38 inches from side to side, providing readouts for the driver and the infotainment system.

Outside, the 2021 Escalade makes its presence known with revised styling that includes a new fascia and grille treatment, plus LED lighting. The headlamps are thin and horizontally oriented, leading the eye rearwards to tall, upright proportions that demand attention on the road.

  1. Thanks for the observation of the grille, but this is rather obvious. The extras on new 2021 grille are notable.

The head and tail lights on the 2021 are really artistically stunning.
Could you give us a primer on the engineering history of and the design of the lights for the Escalade?
