Cadillac has announced that the 2019 Cadillac XT4 will having a starting price of $35,790, including a $995 destination fee, when it goes on sale this fall.
That is good for the XT4 base model called Luxury with no options. The trim includes 18-inch wheels, LED head and taillights, leatherette trim, power seats, rear-park assist, CUE and dual-climate control, as well as a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Optional on the trim are a sunroof, a cold-weather package, Navigation radio with Bose audio system, all-wheel drive and a trailering package.
From there, the XT4 follows Cadillac’s new “Y” trim level strategy that enables customers to pick between Premium Luxury or Sport models, which both are upgrades over the base model while adding their own unique content. Pricing for those models is expected to be announced.
Something tells us that very few units of the XT4 will actually sell for the $35,790 base price. Instead, most models will probably sell for several thousand higher as customers option their vehicles.
The first-ever compact Cadillac crossover is positioned in a unique way: it’s the same size as other compact luxury vehicles, while being priced one segment below, in the subcompact space.
The 2019 Cadillac XT4 goes on sale in the fall of 2018. Production will take place at the Kansas City plant operated by Cadillac’s parent company, General Motors.
